FRUIT SCONES
Ingredients:-
- 225 gms. Mortons Self Raising Flour
- 70gms. Mixed Dried Fruit
- 50gms. Butter
- 2 Tablespoons Caster Sugar
- ½ Teaspoon Baking Powder
- 150mls. Milk
Sift the flour and baking powder into a bowl. Rub in the butter until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
Stir in the sugar and fruit and add milk until the mix becomes a soft dough.
Place dough on a floured board. Knead lightly and roll out to 2cms. thickness. Cut into 5cms. rounds and place on a lightly floured baking tray.
Bake in a hot oven(220°C Gas Mark7) for ten minutes.
Cool on a wire rack
